On the 29th June 2005 my youngest son Matthew and his beautiful wife Kylie were
blessed with the birth of triplets, three bouncing boys. Like any proud Nanna,
I had been searching for premature baby clothes prior to their birth.
I found out, however, that this was not an easy task. You see my triplet grandsons
were born 7 weeks early with birth weights between 1500 and 1900 grams.
During
my visits to them in Intensive Care, I learned that while they were in their
humidicribs, they would only wear nappies and it wasn't until they were moved
to Special Care that they could be dressed in their own clothing.
I searched Brisbane east and west, north and south and apart from odd small
sizes, I found no one was catering for these little miracles - premi babies.
I tracked down suppliers that make small sizes for these babies at reasonable
prices. Slowly the idea of helping people with premi babies and multiple births
began to crystallize.
I then started to research nappies in small sizes. When I raised my children,
it was all cloth nappies. I had no idea what the term eco nappy meant. Which
one is the most comfortable for the baby? What chemicals are in contact with
the baby's skin?
I like to think, now, that I have the answers to all these questions. Armed
with this knowledge and research, I have tried to fill my Baby Place with clothing,
nappies and other products that I would be happy for my own grandchildren to
wear. I believe that good design, quality and durability in baby wear does not
have to cost the earth and if they are Australian made then even better still.
Good research means asking lots of questions. So if you have any questions
about my products, please drop me an email. Together we can find the best products
for your baby.
